Puppy rescue

As my mom and I walked from home towards the lake, my dog got scared, pulled out of his collar and ran through traffic on the busy street we had just crossed towards home. BOLTED. I ran after him without really looking. My mom was scared we’d both be killed. I was screaming like a crazy lady - and am so grateful for the guy who pointed me down the street he went, for the woman who blocked that street with her car and for the guy who, when my puppy finally came running back to me but I couldn’t get the leash on, asked if I needed help. I was so grateful (and a little embarrassed) to be seen by my neighbors. We live in a busy world where we’re told to fear - and I loved knowing people would go out of their way to help me. It all ended well - and I’m reminded again people are good.
